Prossy and Jordan's Ugandan Wedding!

Posted by Deanna on

Prossy was a member of the African Children's Choir from Uganda. In recent years she has been working for the choir. She met Jordan while they were both working for the African Children's Choir in the states. So this past week they were married in Uganda. Here are a few photos from the traditional Ugandan wedding as well as the WHITE WEDDING. I love learning about new wedding cultures. It is Ugandan Custom for the bride to walk through a processional blending in while the groom is in the audience being very non chalant. Then the mother finds the groom and then the groom goes to find the bride....Prossy wore several outfits and then they had a reception with these awesome cakes...

Then there is the white wedding along the lines of the Western/North American style.  My friend Kenzie was a bridesmaid and had her short hair braided for the event. Her mom Jodi took many of the pics here.

 Okay...take aways from this.
  • Red and White two piece dresses look amazing
  • Mixing Brightly colored fabrics can really work
  • The grooms Ugandan Suit with a groomed mini beard looks awesome
  • For those who want to mimic the African traditions how about having a rehearsal dinner or pre wedding incorporating the bride procession and groom discovery...
Prossy and Jordan are planning on living in Kampala and working with the African Children's Choir.
